Penny Trust Fund Approves Makes Distributions to Public Health and Education
State Treasurer and Chairman of the Penny Trust Fund Board of Directors Young Boozer announced that the board of the Penny Trust Fund met to approve applications for fiscal year 2015 disbursements of $207,206.14 each to the Departments of Public Health and Education. The board approved a proposal from the Department of Public Health to use its’ distribution for the Alabama Drug Assistance Program and approved a proposal from the Department of Education to use its’ distribution for disease prevention in schools exhibiting high-risk disease categories.
The Penny Trust Fund Board of Directors has met annually since 2011 to review and approve disbursements to Public Health and Education as required by law.
