Where do I find information on state-issued checks, Alabama tax refunds, and child support payments?

While the Office of State Treasurer receives deposits for the state and manages state funds, we do not issue warrants (or checks).

Do you hold open/public meetings?

In compliance with the State of Alabama Open Meetings Act, the Office of the Alabama Secretary of State maintains a listing of all public meetings of state agencies, commissions and government bodies.

Do you handle foreign currency, cashing state-issued checks, or mutilated currency?

The Alabama Office of State Treasury does not handle any type of transactions dealing with the cashing of state-issued warrants or checks or the exchange of foreign currency. Should you need those services please contact a bank or financial institution. If you have mutilated or damaged U.S. currency or coins that you wish to redeem please contact the U.S. Treasury’s Bureau of Engraving and Printing.
